Responsibilities

The Training Division provides training in all aspects of emergency services including fire suppression and tactics, hazard material operations, confined space rescue, water / ice rescue, and emergency medical services education and credentialing.

The Training Division of the St. Joseph Fire Department is a constantly evolving entity that is charged with educating the members of the Fire Department on the dynamic methodology of the fire service.

Fire Academy

The Fire Department has been working to refresh all fire suppression personnel in various fire-ground tactics and skills, with the emphasis on house fires, automobile extrication, and confined space rescue.

Staff

The division is staffed by a chief training officer and a training officer.
