A fitness center membership at the Joyce Raye Patterson 50+ Activity Center (JRP) includes use of the fitness center and circuit room equipment.
The fitness center at the JRP is a 2,288 square foot room with 24 pieces of equipment including cardio and weight stacked strength equipment. Equipment is chosen for a variety of physical abilities from NuStep machines to a Graviton. In 2021, six pieces of equipment were added to the fitness center: an alpine climber, a Matrix tread treadmill, and a SportsArt treadmill with medical handrails, a recumbent bike, an inner/outer thigh machine, and a leg press.
The circuit room includes twelve pieces of equipment. Resistance is created by using gas shocks and can be increased as repetitions are increased. This equipment was donated by M.E.R.I.L. Users of the circuit room experience a workout that is easier on their joints and can obtain a full body workout in as little as 20 minutes.
Memberships for the fitness center are available annually beginning January 1 and ending December 31 of each year. Memberships are available for purchase throughout the year.
The JRP has a personal trainer available to acquaint you with the equipment, assist with your individual fitness center workout needs, answer questions and provide encouragement.
The JRP now accepts Silver Sneakers and Renew Active members.
The first, second, and fourth Saturday of the month, the fitness center is open if a dance is scheduled from 7:30-9:30pm.
The third Saturday of the month, the fitness center is open if the Stamp Club meets from 1-3pm.
